IN LESS THAN 3 WEEKS
2/1/2010

Town & Country Bank announced the results of its fundraising effort for the Salvation Army totaled $10,124.66.  The check was presented to Salvation Army representatives on January 29, 2010 at the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce 141st Annual Gala & Banquet.  Town & Country Bank was also the presenting sponsor for the gala.

“We are very pleased with the results,” said Micah Bartlett, president & CEO of Town & Country Bank.  “We are honored that so many contributors came together to serve the critical needs of our community by helping the Salvation Army continue its worthwhile programs,” he added.

The fundraiser was kicked off January 11, 2010 in an effort to help the Salvation Army offset shortfalls in their annual fundraising.  Red Kettles were placed in each of the four Springfield branches of Town & Country Bank.  The bank’s employees, customers, and community neighbors all contributed to the effort, along with the bank’s own matching contribution.

TOWN & COUNTRY BANK TO MATCH FUNDS RAISED FOR THE SALVATION ARMY OF SPRINGFIELD 1/11/10

Town & Country Bank in Springfield has announced it is leading an intensive fund raiser for the Salvation Army of Springfield to help offset shortfalls in their annual fundraising.  “The Salvation Army is a critical organization in our community and they are facing budget shortfall,” said Micah Bartlett, President and CEO of Town & Country Bank.  “We felt we needed to do more to help the Salvation Army provide essential services and we are excited to use our long-time network of customers, employees and neighbors as a platform to help the organization meet its budget.”  Town & Country Bank will contribute a dollar-for-dollar match up to $3000 donated.

The fundraiser, beginning immediately and ending Friday, January 29, 2010, will make use of the Salvation Army’s red buckets in each of Town & County Bank’s four (4) locations.  Customers and other members of the community are encouraged to stop by any branch and drop cash or a check into the bucket, or give our bankers your donation.

“This is going to help us tremendously,” said Major Paul Logan.  “We are over $70,000 short of making our Tree of Lights goal,” he said.  The Tree of Lights goal represents just half of the Salvations Army’s annual 2010 budget.  The annual budget includes the provision of services the Salvation Army offers all year, such as; the homeless shelter which serves 40 homeless people 365 days of the year and the food pantry that serves over 16,000 people.  “We are very grateful for the donations we have received and thank Town & Country Bank for stepping up to help us, so we can in turn help our friends and neighbors,” stated Logan.

Town & Country Bank will present the Salvation Army a check for the proceeds of the fundraiser at the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce 141st Annual Gala & Banquet on January 29, 2010 at the Crown Plaza Hotel.  Town & Country Bank is the presenting sponsor of the 141st Annual Gala and encourages businesses to participate in this matching program for the Salvation Army.
